Mr. Emsiek is a Partner at The Judge Law Firm and a proven litigator specializing in common interest development law. He regularly serves as general and litigation counsel to community associations throughout California, advising boards of directors and management companies on the full spectrum of association matters, including governing documents, incorporation, corporate governance, and the enforcement and interpretation of CC&Rs. Mr. Emsiek has particular depth in assessment collections, handling everything from judicial and nonjudicial foreclosure to contested collection trials. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Partner at Feldsott, Lee & Nichter, where he built a reputation for delivering decisive results at trial and on dispositive motions. Mr. Emsiek's practice is further distinguished by his experience representing both homeowner associations and individual homeowners. That dual vantage point gives him a uniquely strategic perspective on how each side evaluates risk and approaches resolution, allowing him to anticipate the opposition's playbook and craft more effective strategies for whichever client he represents.
Outside of his practice, Mr. Emsiek's life revolves around family, the ocean, and music. Most weekends, he can be found surfing at San Onofre with his wife and two children, doing his best to keep up with his five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son in the lineup. A former collegiate athlete and captain of the Fordham University sailing team, his connection to the water runs deep. He is also an avid guitar player and lifelong concertgoer, with a passion for gardening that fills much of his time at home.
